  • the difficulties you face are so close you can't see your way clear.
  • life decisions need an objective professional sounding board.
  • in conjunction with physical healing or processing grief.
  • to complement your spiritual quest or questioning and enhance personal development.

What type of counseling do I use?

Spiritual psychology, commonly known as Transpersonal Psychology, best describes the blending of my degree in psychology and my training in pastoral counseling. It is a wholistic approach recognizing the material/physical self and the transcendent aspects of being human. My specialty is supporting people through life's many changes and transitions. As your guide and companion on the journey,I focus on seeing your potential and greater possibilities, drawing out your innate gifts and nurturing your talents. My passion is supporting people with tools, techniques and the confidence to improve their lives: mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. This is the basis of what I do in counseling.

Sandy Talks About Her Counseling Practice

I have always been fascinated by people—the way they think, feel and act. Of course, the best person to observe and learn from has been myself. My journey of self discovery, with its ups and downs, has brought the awareness that my thoughts and beliefs create my reality. As I began fine tuning my thinking, my life radically changed for the better. From battered wife and welfare mother in the 60's, I became a successful businesswoman in the 70's, an ordained minister in the 80's and a happily married teacher and entrepreneur in the 90's. My learning and service continues to evolve into the 21st century.

Where did I receive my training?

  • Marylhurst University
  • Portland Community College
  • Leeward Community College
  • University of Hawai'i – Manoa
  • Religious Science International
  • Network of Coaches Alliance
  • Hopewell House Hospice
  • and ongoing postgraduate courses and study.
